Also called zero tillage, no-till is a method of planting crops which avoids the use of plowing. There are a number of benefits to adopting a no-till approach, benefits which apply to the land, the farmer, and the environment as a whole. First and foremost among these is that by leaving the soil mostly undisturbed and leaving high levels of crop residues behind, soil erosion is almost eliminated.
